The Great Nosh is the ultimate summer picnic, packed with NYC’s best restaurants, exclusive chef collabs, immersive art, unexpected Jew-ish cultural connections, and sunshine.
Sunday, June 21st, 2026 — see you there!
There are a few options.
Recommended: Governors Island Ferry (Operated by The Trust for Governors Island)
NYC Ferry
Great Nosh Tip: Check ferry schedules and buy tickets in advance here before you go.
The Great Nosh will take place on the “Play Lawns” (baseball diamonds) area of Governors Island. It’s about a 12-minute walk when you arrive from Manhattan and a 7-minute walk when you arrive from Brooklyn.
Public safety is a top priority. Working closely with NYPD, Community Security Initiative, and private security firms, we have developed a robust plan to ensure a secure environment for all attendees at The Great Nosh. Click HERE for a complete list of event rules and guidelines.
The Great Nosh is not a kosher event, but there will be some certified kosher offerings. Additionally, vegetarian options will be available at the festival.
Because our chef collaborators are creating unique items for The Great Nosh and they are on an island without access to their kitchens or other resources, it may be difficult for them to accommodate special diets.
With each ticket you’ll receive entry into the event, a limited edition Great Nosh picnic blanket and tote bag, and access to a variety of activities including cooking demos, art and crafting stations, games and more.
We love pups and other pets, but sadly animals are not allowed on Governors Island unless they are certified service animals. Service animals are welcome at the picnic.
No, you will not be allowed to bring your own food or beverages into the designated Great Nosh area. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the event.
No, you are not permitted to bring outside alcohol into the designated event area. Alcohol will be available for purchase.
Yes. Complimentary water will be available.
You are welcome to bring your bike to Governors Island, but you will not be allowed to bring your bike into The Great Nosh. Please park and lock outside at your own risk.
Children are more than welcome at The Great Nosh. There will be special activities for children of all ages. Children under 5 are free, youth tickets (5-12) are $18, but ALL children and youth MUST have a ticket or prior registration in order to attend.
Guests at The Great Nosh are encouraged to use the limited-edition picnic blankets they will receive upon arrival to sit on the grass. There will be limited picnic-table seating available for those who require it.
The Great Nosh will take place rain or shine. Our first concern is public safety. We are taking all necessary precautions to be able to adapt to inclement weather. If the forecast ahead of the event indicates any situation that would affect the safety of our guests, participants, or staff, we will make whatever decision is necessary to ensure everyone’s safety and notify you immediately. All tickets are non-refundable.
Yes, this is a credit card-only event, including Tap to Pay on your personal devices.
** Vendors will not be accepting cash.
We’ll have everything you need on site for a great picnic. But you know the deal. No drugs. No weapons. No knives. No dishes or glassware. And no outside food or beverage allowed. All personal items brought to The Great Nosh are subject to search by our security team. Click HERE for a complete list of prohibited items.
